ZSI F1312 . Possible types and/or Day specimens : AMS B.7509 (1, syntype ) Sudoya [Suddya], ASI F1312 (1). Synonymized with Glytothorax cavia by Hora & Menon (1949). Distribution: Indus, Ganges and Brahmaputradrainages,Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, (Nath, 1984; Lipton, 1985; Shrestha, 1990; Sen, 1995; Jayaram, 1999; Mirza, 2000; Karmakar, 2000; Rafique, 2000; Shahjehan & Marwat, 2001). Remarks: G. burmanicus has been considered a synonym, but it is a valid species (H. H. Ng, Pers. comm. 2005). Records from the Irrawaddy and Salween drainages are referable to G. burmanicus .
