A nomenclatural and taxonomic review of the names and new combination published between 1886 and 1931 in Kalanchoe (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae) by British botanist Nicholas Edward Brown (1849 - 1934) Author Smith, Gideon F. text Phytotaxa 2023 2023-12-21 630 4 266 280 https://phytotaxa.mapress.com/pt/article/download/phytotaxa.630.4.2/51381 journal article 10.11646/phytotaxa.630.4.2 1179-3163 10417649 5. Kalanchoe prasina Brown (1904a: 211) . Type :—[Nyasaland] MALAWI , cultivated in Kew Gardens, 6 February 1904 , N.E. Brown s.n . ( lectotype , K barcode K000232903! [specimen not accessible at the online catalogue of Herb. K]; holotype , according to Fernandes (1983: 57) and Smith (2020a: 273) , here corrected to lectotype . Taxonomic notes :— Kalanchoe prasina is an accepted species (see Smith 2020a: 273 ) ( Fig. 1F ). Nomenclatural notes :— Brown (1904a: 211) did not cite any specimens in the protologue of the name K. prasina , and there is no indication that Brown (1904a: 211) used only N.E. Brown s.n ., barcode K000232903, when publishing the name (Turland et al . 2028: Art. 9.1( b )). The name therefore does not have a holotype , despite Fernandes (1983: 57) and Smith (2020a: 273) regarding the Herb. K-held specimen, N.E. Brown s.n ., with barcode K000232903, as the holotype . This is in fact a lectotype . The correction is made here. The material was sent to Herb. K by Mr J. McClunie [possibly McCl o unie] on an unknown date (see K. dyeri , the next entry).
