Misidentification. Calligaster williamsi Bequaert 1940: 124 , fig. 1 A–D, ♀ , ♂ —“Los Baños, Luzon, Philippine Is.” ( holotype MCZ). Diagnosis. Similar to previous species but differing as follows: parapsidal furrows shallow and finely punctate, anterior margin of scutellum with an irregular and narrow transverse furrow ( Fig. 8 ), scutellum entirely matt with sparse fine punctures, apical emargination of male clypeus semicircular and as deep as wide ( Fig. 5 ), face entirely black in both sexes, female clypeus more sparsely punctured on the disc ( Fig. 6 ); apical part of aedeagus nearly straight in lateral view, ventral lobes of aedeagus in lateral view subtriangular and pointed and as wide as base of apical part of aedeagus, anteroventral lobe of digitus pointed and forming an acute angle ( Fig. 10 ).
