State of Bahia, Brazil. Distribution. In the Caatinga it is registered in the states of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceara , Minas Gerais, Paraiba , Pernambuco, Piaui , Rio Grande do Norte, and Sergipe. It is widespread in the Caatinga and occurs along eight ecoregions (Table 1 ; Appendix S3). Distributed in low to high elevation areas (34-1,085 m a.s.l.), with annual mean temperature 20 to 27°C, and average annual rainfall between 412 and 1,532 mm. Ecological notes. Arboreal and diurnal (Vanzolini et al. 1980 ). It inhabits arboreal savannas with open vegetation and different types of vegetation in the high and low altitude caatinga, mainly found in branches of trees and shrubs ( Avila-Pires 1995 ; Vitt 1995 ; Rodrigues 1996b ; 2003 ; Mesquita et al. 2018 ). Diet based mainly on arthropods, being Orthoptera and Coleoptera the most representative items, in addition to plant material ( Garda et al. 2012 ). Oviparous, the female usually lays 7-31 eggs at a time ( Vitt 1992 ; Garda et al. 2012 ).
