Holotype : NHMW 2016 /0102/0004, SL: 28.1 mm , MD 14.2 mm , Seyithasan ( Turkey ), illustrated in Landau et al . (2016, pl. 1, fig, 4), Figs 26B 1 –B 2 . Paratypes : 2 spec. , NHMW 1847 /0058/1441, Seyithasan ( Turkey ) . Type locality. Seyithasan , Karaman Basin , Turkey . Type stratum. Tırtar Formation. Age. Middle Miocene, Serravallian. Etymology. In honor of Anton Breitenberger (Bad Vöslau, Austria ), who always supports us by providing access to his collection. Diagnosis. Medium-sized, fusiform, trivaricate shell with high conical spire, weakly incised suture, very broad, steep subsutural ramp and delicate sculpture of secondary and tertiary spiral cords. Description. Medium-sized, fusiform, trivaricate shell with high conical spire; apical angle ~48°. Protoconch unknown. Teleoconch of up to six whorls. Suture weakly incised, shallowly undulating. Early teleoconch whorls convex with faint shoulder. Axial sculpture of nine moderately prominent ribs, overrun by delicate adis, IP and abis and prominent P1–P2 on early teleoconch whorls. Later teleoconch whorls with very broad, steep subsutural ramp and rounded shoulder. Adis, IP and abis with subequal secondary cords, P1–P3 with much weaker s1–s3. Last whorl attaining ~72% of total height; three moderately raised, weakly foliaceous varices and three weaker intervarical ribs. Subsutural ramp with subequal adis, IP and abis, only slightly weaker secondary cords and delicate tertiary cords. P1 strong, P2 atrophied, P3, P4, P5 slightly weaker than P1, P6 atrophied; ADP, MP weak. Secondary cords weaker. Fasciole prominent, swollen, delimiting very broad, shallow pseudoumbilicus. Aperture ovate; outer lip with crenulate edge, prominent D1–D5. Anal canal broad, incised; siphonal canal relatively short, fused, straight. Columella straight, smooth, slightly twisted at siphonal canal. Columellar callus forming broad rim, sharply delimited from base, erect at siphonal canal, adherent in parietal area. Discussion. Ocenebra breitenbergeri sp. nov. differs from Ocenebra vindobonensis (Hörnes, 1853) in its less incised suture, weaker shoulder and the delicate secondary and tertiary spiral cords on the much wider subsutural ramp. Its primary spiral cords do not form spines along the aperture. Ocenebra ligeriana ( Tournouër, 1875 ) , from the Middle Miocene of the northeastern Atlantic, lacks the steep and broad subsutural ramp and differs in its more prominent primary but weaker secondary spiral cords (see Glibert 1952a : pl. 7, fig 5c–d). Paleoenvironment. Shallow marine, inner neritic. Distribution. Serravallian (Middle Miocene): Karaman Basin : Seyithasan ( Turkey ).
