Distribution.
Cryptogenic. Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Baltra, Española, Floreana, Genovesa, Isabela, Marchena, Pinta, Rábida,
San Cristóbal
, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé, Santiago.
Remarks.
Adults of this species inhabit both arid and humid zones. Larvae were observed feeding upon aphids, which were present on
Cryptocarpus pyriformis
Kunth (ICCDRS)
. It was considered an alien species and an important pollinator on some islands (
Traveset
et al
. 2013
). Adults have been collected on the flowers of
C. pyriformis
(
Hervías-Parejo & Traveset 2018
)
