St. 19B ( 25°18’24”N , 109°18’36”W ), August 20, 1991 , 1M, I-K, from surface to 600 m (TD, 1890 m ) (ICML-EMU-12772) . Distribution . Atlantic and Indian Oceans, Mediterranean Sea ( Vinogradov et al . 1996 , García Madrigal 2007 ). In the eastern Pacific from California , USA , to Baja California and the Gulf of California , Mexico , and south to 38°6’S , 88°02’W ( García Madrigal 2007 ). Remarks . Siegel-Causey (1982) reported H. luzoni as a very rare species in the Gulf of California . During his study it was recorded from two sites only, in the epipelagic layers in the southern Gulf and in deep water ( 1087 m ) in the northern Gulf. García Madrigal (2007) mentioned it as an epipelagic, coastal species.
