( Figures 23–33 ) Measurements. Total length, 12.90 ± 0.15 (12.08–13.58); length of pronotum, 3.91 ± 0.07 (3.44–4.15); length of tegmina, 10.02 ± 0.13 (9.66–10.70); width of tegmina, 3.21 ± 0.13 (2.38–3.64). Diagnose. Head red, supra-antennal margin black; basal third of each tegmina reddish, median third translucent, apical margin brownish. Description. Head red, supra-antennal margin black ( Figs 23–24 ); second and third segments of rostrum black; compound eyes black, rounded, arranged transversely; vertex smooth and rectangular, lacking median carina; ocelli black, closer to each other than to compound eyes; tylus smooth and rectangular, lacking median carina; antennae black, each pedicel sparsely setose, basal body of flagellum ovoid as long as wide, bearing one arista shorter than pedicel; postclypeus red, inflated, convex in profile, with one longitudinal carina slightly marked, lateral grooves strongly marked; rostrum extending to the base of mesocoxae. Thorax brownish-red; mesosternum black basally; pronotum reddish, posterior margin black, lacking median carina; anterior margin of pronotum straight, antero-lateral margins convex, postero-lateral margin slightly sinuous, posterior margin grooved; scutellum reddish with slight concavity centrally, lacking horizontal grooves; basal third of tegmina reddish, median third translucent, apical margin brownish; apical reticulation developed; hindwings hyaline with brownish venation, vein Cu1 thickened at base; legs red, tarsi black; metathoracic tibia with two lateral spines (basal spine smaller in size than spines in apical crown; apical spine larger than spines in apical crown); apical crown of spines on each tibia consisting of two rows; basitarsus with two rows of spines covered by setae; subungueal process present and triangular. Abdomen: black. Male. Pygofer brownish, with a truncate process between anal tube and subgenital plates ( Fig. 25 ); subgenital plates long, wide at base and narrowing toward the apex, free for almost all its length ( Fig. 26 ), with a long and robust process covered with small spines and inserted on the inner margin medially ( Fig. 25 ); paramere slender, with a dorsal, short and sclerotized spine pointed upwards and a ventral, sclerotized spine pointed downwards ( Figs 27–28 ); aedeagus robust with a straight shaft, slightly enlarged at base and covered by small scale-like spines ( Figs 29–30 ). Female. First valvulae of ovipositor long and slender, acute apically and with a basal, rounded and robust process directed downward ( Fig. 31 ); second valvulae long, with apical third of dorsal margin slightly serrate ( Fig. 32 ); third valvulae short and wide, with long ventral setae. Distribution. Brazil (Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro) ( Fig. 33 ). Remarks. This species is larger and more robust than the other species of Urubaxia . Some genitalic characters are unique, such as the dorsal process of the subgenital plate larger and covered with small scale-like spines, and the dorsal spine of paramere shorter and smaller than the spines of the other species. In dorsal view, the subgenital plates of U . chewie n.sp. are similar to the subgenital plates of U. solo n.sp. FIGURES 23–32. Urubaxia chewie n.sp. 23. Habitus, dorsal view; 24. The chewie is a noun in apposition; the epithet is relative to the big size of this species compared to other Urubaxia species—for its appearance we name it in honor of the sci-fi character Chewbacca, dearly known as Chewie , from the Star Wars© saga.
