Torricelli Mountains , Mokai Village , 750m , i.1.1959 ( BPBM ). Diagnosis. Moderately large ( 10–11mm long); pronotum and MS reddish orange, MN brown medially, orange laterally; elytra black; most similar to Medeopteryx antennata , distinguished by the uniformly dark antennae, the nature of the posterior margin of V7 ( Ballantyne & McLean 1970 Fig. 14 ), and its restricted distribution. Remarks. This distinctive species is known only from the two specimens originally described and an additional specimen listed here.
