Diagnosis.
The genus is similar to
Orthocladiscus
Corporaal & van der Wiel, 1949
, but it is distinguished by the following characters: male antennae serrate, pectinate, or flabellate (
Orthocladiscus
: male antennae bipectinate or bifurcate) (CΕR SΤΜΕΙΕR 2006).
Redescription
(for Japanese and Taiwanese species). Body length
5.2–13.4 mm
; head including eyes wider than pronotum, with finely and evenly setigerous punctures; terminal palpomeres of maxillary palpi digitiform; terminal palpomeres of labial palpi triangular, their length equal to 1/2 of width of apical margin of terminal palpomeres; postgular processes short. Pronotum long campaniform, constricted in basal 1/3, evenly covered with pubescence; notosternal suture (Y pronototergosternal suture sensu OΡΙΤΖ (2010)) complete. Elytra elongate, subparallel, with large and deep punctation; rows of punctures not reaching apex; mesoventrite without anterior process. Legs elongate; claws bidentate with basal denticles shorter than apical denticles; protibiae covered densely with pubescence on inner surface; tarsal sole formula 4–4–4; tibial spur formula 0–0–0 (most species) or 2–2–2 (

Female. Metaventrite with or without pair of tuft-like trichobothria; ovipositor with well sclerotized coxite, which is divided into PCL and ACL; trifurcated CPr attached at apex of PCL; coxite covered with pubescence on membrane of base of CPr; median oviduct with or without sclerite at base.
