( Figs. 66 , 85 ) Diagnosis. T. iguazu can be distinguished from other species in the genus by a combination of the anterior margin of the head with a transverse white band but not bordered above and below by thin dark brown or black lines, male pygofer with weakly sclerotized dorsal processes, subgenital plate short, concave laterally, and with 5–6 long macrosetae laterally, connective-aedeagus without pair of symmetrical basal processes and without unpaired process extending dorsad of aedeagus, and aedeagus long, only slightly bent in lateral view, twisted asymmetrically. Body. Male, 4.9 mm . Color. With the typical color pattern except transverse white band on anterior margin of head not bordered above and below by thin dark brown or black lines; forewing veins without brown shading. Male. Pygofer with numerous long macrosetae on posterior 1/3; with pair of weakly sclerotized dorsal processes directed posteroventrally, reaching to mid-height of pygofer. Valve width less than 2x median length; anterior margin strongly produced. Subgenital plates relatively short; lateral margin concave; apices rounded; with single row of 5–6 macrosetae laterally; with numerous short fine hairs laterally. Style articulating arm very long, produced anteriorly; preapical lobe very short; apophysis short, clawlike, wide in ventral view. Connective-aedeagus without symmetrical pair of processes fused near aedeagal base; without unpaired process extending dorsal of aedeagus. Aedeagus long, slightly sinuate, twisted asymmetrically. Phragma lobes long, sclerotized, with numerous short setae at apices. Segment X membranous. Female. Unknown. Material examined. HOLOTYPE : 1♂ , ARGENTINA : Misiones, P.N . Iguazú, 25°40’43”S 54°26’58”W , 6-I- 2008 , C.H. Dietrich , Hg vapor lights, AR6-2 [ MLPA ]. Etymology. The species is named for the Iguazu River which runs next to the type locality. It is considered noun in apposition. Distribution. This species is known only from the type locality southeast of the Argentinean town of Puerto Iguazú which borders both Brazil and Paraguay .
