However, <bibRefCitation pageId="11" pageNumber="12">Godwin-Austen (1907)</bibRefCitation> received a specimen from Hirase, reported on its reproductive system and assigned it as the type species of the genus <taxonomicName class="Gastropoda" family="Helicarionidae" genus="Petalochlamys" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Petalochlamys" order="Stylommatophora" pageId="11" pageNumber="12" phylum="Mollusca" rank="genus">Petalochlamys</taxonomicName> . Hirase (1908: 16, published on 20 Jan. 1908) described his own specimens as a new variety of the same name in Japanese, on the basis of specimens collected from Hotawa; however, he also cited <normalizedToken originalValue="Godwin-Austen’s">Godwin-Austen's</normalizedToken> study in a Japanese translation. Therefore, <bibRefCitation pageId="11" pageNumber="12"> <normalizedToken originalValue="Godwin-Austen’s">Godwin-Austen's</normalizedToken> 1907 </bibRefCitation> publication unintentionally took precedence over <normalizedToken originalValue="Hirase’s">Hirase's</normalizedToken> work, thereby claiming the authorship of this name. Being the type species of the genus, the name was thus elevated to the rank of species ( <bibRefCitation author="Hwang, CC" journalOrPublisher="Venus" pageId="20" pageNumber="21" url="http://www.nhm.ac.uk/hosted-sites/iczn/code/" year="1999">ICZN 1999</bibRefCitation> : Art. 61.4). </paragraph> </subSubSection> </treatment> </document>
