Comments.
The present specimen was found in Shaanxi. So far it was only reported from Sichuan Province. Since the specimen we collected looked much paler than it should be based on the original description, and its male aedeagus was very weakly sclerotized, it is very possible that the specimen had just emerged shortly before it was captured and killed. Otherwise it matched perfectly with the original description.
Distribution.
Bolitogyrus kitawakii
Smetana & Zheng
is known from high mountains in the northeast of Sichuan Province: Micang and Daba at altitudes between
1600 m
and
1900 m
, and another high mountain in the south of Shaanxi Province: Qinling (Ningshan Distr., Huodigou) at an altitude of
1430 m
. The examined specimen was collected in August.
