Acre , Amazonas , Mato Grosso , Pará , Rondônia , Roraima and Tocantins . Public health importance. This sylvatic species rarely colonizes the peri- and intradomiciliary habitats, mainly associated with armadillos and bats ( Patterson et al. 2009 ) and some authors believe that its risk of transmission is very limited ( Salazar-Schettino et al. 2010 ). However, in the Andean countries, this triatomine shows a strong tendency to colonize human dwellings and is an important vector ( Dujardin et al. 1998 a, Wolff and Castillo 2002, Traviezo-Valles et al. 2008 , Patterson et al. 2009 ). It is also having an increasing potential as a vector, since it was demonstrated a synanthropic tendency, wide distribution and trophic eclecticism in northwestern Peru ( Cuba Cuba et al. 2007 ). Remarks. It has been collected between 50 and 630 meters above sea level ( Salazar-Schettino et al. 2010 ). This species can be attracted by light ( Salomon et al. 1999 ).
