DISTRIBUTION: Afghanistan , Baluchistan ( Pakistan ), Iran , Armenia , and SW Turkmenia. STATUS: Considered a crop pest and controlled in parts of its range. However, most populations are not considered threatened. A possible exception may be the isolated population of shukurovi in the Little Balkhan Range, Turkmenia (A. T. Smith et al., 1990).
