Aconitum cammarum
Linnaeus
,
Species Plantarum
, ed. 2, 1
: 751. 1762
.
"Habitat in Stiria, Taurero." RCN: 1958.
Type not designated.
Original material: [icon] in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 2: 97. 1601; [icon] in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 2: 95. 1601; [icon] in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 2: 96. 1601.
Current name:
Aconitum
x
cammarum
L.
(
Ranunculaceae
).
Note:
Muntz (in
Gentes Herb.
6: 466. 1945) noted that, in the cited references of the protologue, at least three different taxa were included, and that there was no material in LINN. Mitka (
Genus
Aconitum
Poland
: 57. 2003) designated an
epitype
"
Flora Suecica
,
Vaestergoetland
, Toarp s:n, St Bygd, Myrlkra, 24 Aug 1889,
A.O. Olsen s.n.
(KRA 011242)" but without there being a
lectotype
. He cites (p. 58) Karlsson (in Jonsell in
Nordic J. Bot.
20: 520. 2000) as saying there are no relevant specimens extant, and that the cited Clusius plates do not depict the garden hybrid.
Mitka's
epitypification cannot be corrected and accepted as a neotypification (Art. 9.8) because of the existence of original material (the problematic Clusius plates).
