Paludina exigua Eichwald, 1838; by original designation. Caspian Sea, Pleistocene. Discussion. The genus Abeskunus and the species that have been attributed to it have caused considerable confusion. A detailed discussion of the taxonomic and nomenclatural problems associated with Abeskunus , considerations on its systematic placement, as well as a description of the type species will be provided in a forthcoming study. Preliminary work confirms classification of the species described below in Abeskunus .
