Identification.
Our specimen was identified as
E. epinephelus
based on: ventral scales 182, subcaudals 54, venter inmaculate, and scale pits present.
Remarks.
We found this species in the grassland habitat, where it was under rocks (
Fig. 10B
), near cultivated areas with evidence of the use of agrochemicals. As an escape strategy from predators, this species can flatten the body by contracting transverse muscles (
Fig.10A
).
