Pseudepipona pseudominuta Gusenleitner, 1971
Pseudepipona pseudominuta
Gusenleitner
in
Bytinski-Salz and Gusenleitner 1971
: 295, ♀; type locality: "Israel, Jericho".
Distribution.
Turkey, Israel (
Gusenleitner 2013
).
Remarks.
Pseudepipona pseudominuta
was also described without indication of the subgenus and thus was then placed in the nominotypical one by default. However, this species is "very similar to
P. niveopicta
" (
Bytinski-Salz and Gusenleitner 1971
) and the latter taxon has been already transferred to the subgenus
Pseudepipona Deuterepipona
by
Fateryga et al. (2017)
. A female and a male of
P. pseudominuta
from Turkey (FSCV) were examined to confirm that it fits the diagnosis of the subgenus
Pseudepipona Deuterepipona
. Particularly, the male mandible is without a notch between the basal and preapical teeth.
