Features:
Apical axis: 18-28 µm, transapical axis: 12-18 µm, striae

10 µm. Valves elliptical with round to slightly produced apices, sharply constricted in the middle forming tongue-shaped halves. Central raphe endings small and elongate. Horns parallel and approaching at ends. Costae marked and elongated in mid-valve, slightly radiate and interrupted by several longitudinal ribs.
Remarks:
Only small specimens have been found in the Mascarenes and all with one half of the valve slightly larger than the other. Widespread species in warm waters.
Occurrence:
Rare in
Reunion
and Rodrigues Islands. Previously reported from
Seychelles
(G).
