Differential diagnosis.
Lawrencipicobia calyptorhyncha
sp. nov.
differs from the only previously known representative of the genus,
L
.
poicephali
(
Skoracki and Dabert, 2002
)
, by the following features. In females of
L. calyptorhyncha
, setae
si
are 70–84 µm long; genital setae
g1
are short setiform and about 20 µm long; in both sexes, only one pair of pseudanal setae
ps1
is present. In females of
L
.
poicephali
, setae
si
are 140 µm long; genital setae
g1
are represented by microsetae and about 10 µm long; in both sexes, two pairs of pseudanal setae
ps1
are present.
Etymology.
The name
calyptorhyncha
is taken from the generic name of the host, and is a noun in apposition.
