Type locality : Turkey : İzmir : ÖdemiŞ, Bozdağ Mountain , 1300–1600m . 16.viii.1950 , 1 male ( holotype ), 1 female ( paratype ) (leg.: P.H. Davis ) ( NHMUK ) . Holotype : Male Distribution: The A. davisi is an Anatolian endemic species and is known only from İzmir , ÖdemiŞ Bozdağ Mountain ( Karabağ 1952 ; Karabağ 1958 ; Ünal 2018 ). Material examined. Anatolia : OdemiŞ Prov. ( Lydia ) Bozdağ ( Tmolus ) 1300–1600m ., 16.viii.1950 , 1 male ( Holotype of A. davisi ), 1 female ( Paratype of A. davisi ) (leg.: P.H. Davis ) ( NHMUK ) (detailed and scaled photo of these two samples were send to us for this research by scientist Beulah Garner from NHMUK ) . Remarks. A. davisi species was first described in Karabağ (1952) and since then, it has not been found in the same locality by any other researcher. However, two other species belonging to the genus have been recorded. Although there are some records of A. schwarzi and A. burri from the type locality of A. davisi in the literature ( Onder et al. 1999 ; Tazegül & Önder 2012 ), there is no record of A. davisi . In addition, Ünal (2018) stated that the specimens of A. burri ( 33 males , 24 females ) and A. schwarzi ( 24 males , 9 females ) collected by Tazegül & Önder (2012) from ÖdemiŞ were only A. schwarzi . In addition, no individuals of A. davisi were encountered in the field studies in ÖdemiŞ during this study (2021–2023). The male cercus character used in the description by Karabağ is an important distinctive character for the genus and it would be appropriate to continue the species status of the species until fresh materials are found and their songs are recorded and/or DNA-based up-to-date analyses are performed. IUCN status proposal . This species has not been assessed for the IUCN Red List (2023-1). There is also not enough data about A. davisi , and it is not possible to consider it on the basis of the extent of occurrence criteria of IUCN (DD =data deficient).
