Ficus chiribiquetensis
Dugand, Caldasia
2: 375. 1944
.
Lectotype
(designated here):
—
COLOMBIA
.
Vaupés
,
Río Macaya
,
Cerro Chiribiquete
,
16 May 1945
,
Schultes 5445
(COL-15345!;
isolectotypes
: COL-15343!, COL-15344!, COL-15346!,
SI
!, US!).
Nomenclatural notes:—
In the protologue, there is no reference to which specimen in the herbarium COL is the type of
F. chiribiquetensis
is. There are four preparations from a single gathering (
Schultes 5445
) with no clear indication on the label whether these are parts of the same specimen (
Turland
et al.
2018
, Art. 8.3). Therefore, they are considered four duplicates and we designate
Schultes 5445
(COL-15345) as the
lectotype
because it contains branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:—
The currently accepted name for this taxon is
Ficus americana
subsp.
guianensis
.
