[with a red dot on the "a" ] [= Gualala, Mendocino County, California]" (lectotype label). Lectotype (♀), designated by Lindroth (1975: 113), in USNM [# 46829]. Synonymy established by Lindroth (1961a: 118). Distribution. This species is widely distributed from central Alaska to Nova Scotia, south to northern Virginia, central Missouri, northern New Mexico, and southern California near the Mexican border [see Goulet 1983: Fig. 172]. The records from "North Carolina," northeastern Florida, "Louisiana," and "Texas" [see Goulet 1983: Fig. 172] need confirmation. Records.
