( Figs 70–71 , 73C–D ) Etymology. The species is named after Xuan Zan, a character in the classic Chinese novel Outlaws of the Marsh ; noun in apposition. Figure 74. Gushangzao pelorosus ( Zhu, 1998 ) comb. nov. , female, alive. Photo by Qianle Lu. Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to Y. mutilata (Bösenberg & Strand, 1906) (see Yoshida, 2002 ) by the needle-shaped embolus and the same shaped sperm duct. However, the new species can be distinguished from Y. mutilata by the conductor directed dorsally in ventral view ( vs. directed retrolaterally in ventral view). The female of the new species is similar to Y. castrata (see Yoshida, 2002 ) by the oval atrium. However, it can be distinguished by the primary and secondary spermathecae being equal in size ( vs. primary spermathecae about twice as large as secondary spermathecae). Description.
