Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V, female, specimen from Pilu; 8D. Abdominal ventrite V, female, specimen from Taipingshan; 8E. Abdominal ventrite VIII, female, specimen from Taipingshan; 8F. Triangulate processes on abdominal ventrite VIII, female, Pilu; 8G. Abdominal tergite VIII, female; 8H. Spermatheca. Description. Aedeagus concave and wide, sides subparallel; apico-lateral angles obtusely angulate, wide in lateral view, bases of apico-lateral angles moderately arcuate; apical margin with a short and narrow median tubelike process, wide in lateral view, apex slightly and medially depressed; dorsal process subapically and strongly swollen in dorsal and lateral views, apex recurved and pointed in lateral view ( Figs 8 A–8B). Ventrite V ( Fig. 8 D) not modified in female, apical margin broadly rounded. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 8 E) heart-shaped, with extremely short spiculum, with dense elongate setae along apical margins of triangulate processes. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 8 G) with apex pointed, with dense setae on disc. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 8 H) weakly swollen, barely separated from pump, pump much narrower and longer, sharply curved; proximal spermathecal duct long and narrow. Variation. Females collected from Pilu, east Taiwan , have the sinuate apical margin of abdominal ventrite V ( Fig. 8 C) bearing sparse elongate setae along apical margins of triangulate processes on ventrite VIII ( Fig. 8 F). Diagnosis. Siemssenius liui sp. nov. is characterized by the extremely short, tube-like median process on the apical margin of the aedeagus ( Figs 8 A–8B). Remarks. Eight paratypes of Pseudoliroetis rufipennis Chûjô are misidentified and belong to this new species. Host plant. Lonicera acuminata Wall., 1832 (Caprifoliaceae) . Etymology. This new species is named after Mr. Wei-Ting Liu, a member of the TCRT and first to collect this new species. Distribution. Montane areas in north and east Taiwan ( Hualien , Ilan, and Taoyuan counties) ( Fig. 4 ).
