Lysilinga nigra
Webb
spec. nov.
(
Figs. 366
, 376, 386, 396, 406, 416, 426, 436, 444, 449)
Etymology
Niger
(Latin) = black. This name is used as an adjective and refers to the black coloration of the specimens.
Diagnosis
Lysilinga nigra
is taxonomically associated with
L. chamela
and
L. digita
in lacking setae on the katepisternum; in having the abdomen dark reddish brown; in having the halter knob dark brown; lacking dorsocentral macrosetae; and the hypoproct quadrate (
Fig. 366
).
Lysilinga nigra
differs from
L. chamela
and
L. digita
in having the male frons setose; the anterior half of the ejaculatory apodeme cylindrical (Fig. 436); and the female abdomen dark reddish brown, glossy, pruinescence white on the posterolateral area of tergites 1–7.
