p.n.
(
Figs 1–8
)
Female macropterous. Body pale with brown markings, head anterior margin and ocellar triangle brown, pronotum with patches of brown markings medially and laterally; all legs pale, except some slightly shaded on outer surface; antennal segment I pale, II slightly shaded, III–VIII uniformly brown (
Fig. 3
); fore wing including clavus uniformly light brown, except extreme apex slight pale (
Fig. 6
); abdominal tergites III–VIII including antecostal ridges shaded with lateral thirds paler; all abdominal sternites pale but IV–VI with antecostal ridge strongly shaded.
Head with ocellar setae I present, arising in front of fore ocellus in a transverse line with II; III arising outside ocellar triangle; postocular setal pairs I and II arise behind hind ocelli, pairs III and IV near posterior margin of eyes; mouthcone not extending beyond posterior margin of pronotum; compound eyes with pigmented ommatidia ventrally. Antennal segment II with inner dorsal apical seta short, with six rows of microtrichia dorsally but none ventrally; III–VI with 4 to 5 rows of microtrichia on both surfaces. Pronotum wider than long, with about 22 fine setae, uniformly and closely transversely striate; 3 pairs of posteromarginal setae (
Fig. 2
). Mesonotum with close transverse striae; no anterior CPS, median setae arising at middle, submedian setae arising at posterior margin. Metanotum anterior half with few weak transverse striae, posterior half weakly reticulate, without CPS (
Fig. 2
). Ferna almost attaching medially. Mesosternum with about 16 fine setae; metasternum with about 10 long and fine setae. Fore wing first vein with 3 + 5 +1 setae on basal half, 4 widely spaced setae on distal half; second vein with 3 widely spaced setae; clavus with 4 veinal and one discal setae. Tergites II–VI setal pair S1 minute, wide apart, arising postero-mesad to CPS (
Fig. 4
); tergites VII─VIII with setal pair S1 long, subequal to and arising close to setae S2 (
Fig. 5
); posteromarginal comb complete on VII–VIII; VIII without rows of discal microtrichia extending mesad on anterior half (
Fig. 5
). Sternites with no discal microtrichia medially (
Fig. 7
).
Measurements of holotype
(in microns). Distended body length 920. Head, length 53; width across cheeks 120; vertex length 18–20. Pronotum median length 85; width 155. Metascutal median setae 22; submedian setae 26. Fore wing length 470. Antennal segments I–VIII length (width): 11 (21), 30 (21), 36 (19), 39 (17), 31 (15), 36 (16), 6 (7), 10 (5).

Centotheca
sp. [
Poaceae
] (rumput), 8–11.ix.2015 (Ng, Y.F.) (in CISUKM). Paratypes: three females collected with holotype (in CISUKM and ANIC).
Comments.
The body and fore wing of this new species are more extensively brown than in
minutus
, from which it is further distinguished in the key above.
