Article 3 of maxillary palp 0.75–0.90 times as long as scape, clearly narrower than synantennomere 3; ovipositor 0.9–1.4 times as long as fore wing; medial part of valvula 3 diamond-shaped in cross-section ( Figs 86 , 95 ), dorsal and ventral edge of valvula 3 distally evenly narrowing to acicular tip, sensilla field absent ( Fig. 87 ); penis valve without lateral lamella, upper edge of proximal and medial lobe at almost same level, lower ergot present ( Fig. 126 ). Species included . Xyela helvetica and X. longula in the West Palearctic.
