The species is known only from Argentina and has been reported from Tucumán , Jujuy , and Salta Provinces ( Berg 1879 ; Hayward 1942 ; Torres 1946 ; Hayward 1960 ; Metcalf 1963a ; Duffels & van der Laan 1985 ; Goemans 2010 ). We collected specimens in Salta Province . The species was collected in the middle levels of the Yunga floristic province ( Sanborn et al. 2011a ).
