Comments.
The treatment of
L. pinicola
and
L. piniella
as different species is perplexing, given that they were described in the same publication. The key to species in McGown (1979) separated them on the basis of the scape "long and slim" versus "stouter, not noticeably long and slim". Our examination reveals that the shapes of the scape in these species are essentially identical (Figures
