Palearctic species, distributed in Europe from
Spain
to the southern part of central Siberia and
Turkey
and the Carpathian (
Delmas 1976
). In the Iberian Peninsula it is frequently observed in the Pyrenees and locations from the Cantabrian Range, between 600 and
2500 m
(

).
The species is not considered threatened at a continental scale: Least Concern in the IUCN Red List of European Bees (Rasmont
et al.
2015).
