Thach (2015) mentioned that this species differs from the B. cambojiensis in possessing a more depressed shell, slightly angular periphery and a monochrome dark colour below the periphery. The living specimen figured by Thach (2015 : figs 17, 19) shows a similar aulacopod foot sole with less developed caudal horn than in the type species. An examination of the reproductive organs or molecular data are required to determine its systematic status. Figure 3.
