World distribution –
The species has been recorded from Holarctic, and has the most distribution and least host specificity among all caraboacarid mites (
Katlav
et al
. 2015
).
Material examined –
Three large colonies of females obtained under the elytra of ground beetles of
Calosoma
Weber, 1801
and
Harpalus
Latreille, 1802
. The host beetles were collected from all over the
Golestan Province
during Summer 2014.
Remarks –
This is the first report of the family
Caraboacaridae
in
Golestan Province
.
