DIAGNOSIS: This genus resembles
Perditomorpha
in the form of the metafemoral and metatibial scopal setae and shortened flagellum, but has a distinctly pectinate inner metatibial spur.
ETYMOLOGY: The new subgeneric name is a combination of the Ancient Greek
nânos
(
νᾶνος
, meaning, “dwarf”) and
Pasiphae
. The gender of the name is feminine.
