Deeveya medix Kornicker 1990 in Kornicker et al. 1990 , USNM 1021387, adult male: a, complete specimen from right side and detail of surface structures (black spots are bright spots in transmitted light), length 1.70 mm; b, copulatory organ on left side of posterior part of body. Scale equals 0.10 mm ( a– detail ) and 0.02 mm ( b ). Supplementary description of adult male ( Fig. 40 ). Carapace similar in shape and ornamentation to that of holotype ( Fig. 40 a ). Carapace size (length, height in mm). USNM 1021447, 1.70, 1.31; USNM 1021443, 1.65, 1.17. Mandible: 1st endopod segment with 6 bristles (1 anterior, 1 posterior, 4 medial). Genitalia ( Fig. 40 b ): Similar to that of holotype . Remarks. Kornicker et al. (1990: 44) reported this species in Sagittarius Blue Hole from collections made in 1984 and 1987. The present collections made in 1989 and 2001 from the same cave show that the species continued to live in the cave and was not affected by intervening climactic events. The present collection from Basil Minn’s Blue Hole, Great Exuma Island, is the first record of the species from the Great Bahama Bank. The species is reported for the first time in Virgo Blue Hole, Little Bahama Bank.
