Material.
1 ♀ obtained on
16.06.2012
from a flowerpot that was transferred to the Curculio-Institute (CURCI) in Hannover in spring 2012.
Reared before in the climate chamber of JKI in Braunschweig. Rearing in flowerpots was started on
24.06.2011
. Host plants were
Ligustrum vulgare
L. (2 pots) and
Syringa vulgaris
L. (3 pots).
16 specimens
were released on these plants. The weevils were collected before in the Berggarten in Hannover-Herrenhausen by means of night catch on
21.06.2011
mainly on
Dendranthema
x grandiflorum
(Ramat.) Kitam. cultivars.
General morphology.

4.30 mm
(♀), head width:
1.80 mm
(♀). Body moderately slender, slightly curved, white to yellowish. Cuticle densely covered by minute hair-like cuticular processes. Rostrum short, almost as long as wide, surpassing procoxae in repose. Antennae moderately elongate. Pronotum almost 1.5 as wide as long. Ab. I–IV of almost equal length, next Ab. tapering towards the apex. Ab. IX distinctly smaller than other ones. Pseudocerci short, thorn-like, with sclerotized apical parts. Five pairs of functional spiracles placed laterally on Ab. I–V.
Chaetotaxy.
Setae of unequal length, hair-like, yellow or brown, mostly based on protuberances. Macrosetae of head, rostrum, pronotum, femora and abdominal tergites dark brown, with curved apical parts. Microsetae light yellow, straight. Rostrum with a pair of
