Clinidium baldufi
R.T. Bell, 1970: 313. Type locality: "Dayton [La Salle County], Ill[inois]" (original citation). Holotype (♂) in MCZ [# 31748]. Etymology. The specific name was proposed for Walter Valentine Balduf [1889-1969], professor of entomology at the University of Illinois.
Distribution.
This species ranges from New Jersey to central Iowa, including southwestern Wisconsin (Messer 2010: 33), south to southern Mississippi (Bell and Bell 1985: 89) and northern Florida (Bell 1970: 313). Old specimens simply labeled from Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas are known (Bell 1970: 313). The records from
"Arkansas"
and
"Louisiana"
(Bousquet and Larochelle 1993: 43) need confirmation.
