Distribution Previously recorded ( See Kott 2001 ): Queensland ( Capricorn Group , Swain Reef , Whitsunday Is ); Western Pacific ( Indonesia, Fiji, New Caledonia , Palau Is ). New records: Queensland ( Northern Great Barrier Reef : 18.275 ° S , 146.455 ° E , 30 m ) . Remarks The thin colony has small zooids and globular spicules (to 0.0275 mm diameter) crowded throughout. Its spicules are a similar size to those of D. jedanese , but are more compact. The pigment usually observed in the test of this species was not detected in the newly recorded specimen.
