Needles of an incomplete length measuring more than
120 mm
, joined in 2 to 3 per fascicle; sheaths preserved sometimes at the fascicle base. The specific determination is doubtful. Similar needles were distinguished in two fossil species in the Meleto Clay by
Fischer and Butzmann (2000)
,
but the number of needles per fascicle often varies between 2 and
3 in
the same species in the subgen.
