Remarks. -
A benthopelagic deep-water species found between
873 m
and
2330 m
depth (
Merrett and Domanski, 1985
;
Geistdoerfer, 1990
). An eastern Atlantic species mostly known from insular areas and adjacent seamounts: the Azores (
Collett, 1896
,
holotype
), Madeira (
Geistdoerfer, 1986
), the Canaries (
Merrett and Domanski, 1985
) and the
Cape Verde
Islands (
Maio
Island) (
Roule, 1919
). Also present in the Bay of Cadiz (
Nybelin, 1948
). This is the southernmost record for the species.
