This dark brown ant is widespread in the Pacific islands from Marquesas, Tahiti,
Samoa
,
Fiji
,
Tonga
,
New Caledonia
, New Britain, Solomons and Papua. Now recorded from
Guam
for the first time. We found it widely distributed, and the most abundant of the species of
Pheidole
in
Guam
