Unexplored richness: discovery of 31 new species of Giant Pill-Millipedes endemic to Madagascar, with a special emphasis on microendemism (Diplopoda, Sphaerotheriida) Author Wesener, Thomas text Zootaxa 2009 2009-05-11 2097 1 1 134 https://biotaxa.org/Zootaxa/article/view/zootaxa.2097.1.1 journal article 10.11646/zootaxa.2097.1.1 11755334 5316536 0E18167A-78EB-4079-8BF4-972A4AC88C69 Genus Zoosphaerium Pocock, 1895 Type species: Sphaerotherium neptunus Butler, 1872 . Synonyms: Heligmasoma Chamberlin, 1921 , Globotherium Brolemann, 1922 . See Wesener & Wägele (2008) for an extensive revision of the genus. Zoosphaerium was divided into speciesgroups, but it remains unclear if those species-groups represent monophyletic units which might deserve generic status. One new species-group, based on Z. blandum ( de Saussure & Zehntner, 1902 ) is introduced here. Only two of the new species could not be assigned to a species-group.
