Macrolycus quadrifidus sp. nov. ( Figs 24 , 41, 42, 52 ) Type material . Holotype , male, China , W Sichuan, 2500 m , road to Sabdé-Jiulong, region of Picea forest. Wuouna, ( 40 km NNE Jiulong), J. Kalab, 21. vi. 1994 ( LMBC ). Diagnosis. The species described here can be easily distinguished from other Macrolycus species by the tetraschistic apex of the aedeagus ( Fig. 42 ). Description ( holotype ). Body medium-sized, black, pronotum and elytra testaceous brown ( Fig. 24 ). Head small, with prominent antennal tubercles. Antennomeres 3 and 4 lamellate ( Fig. 52 ). Pronotum transverse, lateral margins parallel-sided, anterior angles blunt and acute, posterior angles acutely projected; anterior and lateral margins of pronotum orange, with prominent rib; posterior margin sinuate ( Fig. 24 ). Scutellum dark brown, emarginate posteriorly. Elytra subparallel, with prominent glabrous humeri. Elytral costa 1 stout at humeri, shortened, reaching at most third of elytral length, costa 3 reaching to anterior two thirds of elytra, costae 2 and 4 stouter and more elevated, glabrous. Costal interspaces with irregular punctures, covered with dense soft testaceous pubescence. Aedeagus with short robust paramerae, median lobe with tetraschistic apex, prominent lateral rib and broad ventral cavity ( Figs 41, 42 ). Measurements. Length 12.1 mm, width at humeri 2.95 mm, pronotum length/width 1.95/2.00 mm. Distribution. China (Sichuan); the species is known only from the type locality. Etymology. The specific name refers to the tetraschistic apex of the median lobe of the aedeagus. Macrolycus rubineus sp. nov. ( Figs 28 , 43, 44, 53 ) Type material. Holotype , male, China , Guizhou province, Leigongshan, Xijiang, 1200–1900 m , 29. v.–2. vi. 1997 , Bolm ( LMBC ). Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the shape of the male genitalia, whose median lobe is apically constricted in the bottle-neck shape ( Fig. 44 ). The apical part of the aedeagus is not inflated as in M. laetus in lateral view ( Fig. 43 ). Description ( holotype ) . Body small, slender and dark brown; pronotum and elytra testaceous; margins of pronotum orange, central part brown ( Fig. 28 ). Head small, with conspicuous antennal tubercles. Antennae overlapping midlength of elytra when inclined, from antennomere 3 lamellate ( Fig. 53 ). Pronotum almost quadrate, with acute posterior angles; hind margin sinuate, protruding posteriad ( Fig. 28 ). Scutellum dark brown, parallel sided, with straight posterior margin. Elytra subparallel, with costae 2 and 4 stout; costae 1 and 3 relatively weaker, becoming inconspicuous behind humeri. Pubescence testaceous, dense, decumbent. Aedeagus relatively short and robust, without paramerae; apical part of aedeagus vase-like; apex of aedeagus with small notch and ventrally inclined lamella ( Figs 43, 44 ). Measurements. Length 9.20 mm, width at humeri 1.85 mm, pronotum length/width 1.40/1.55 mm. Distribution. China (Guizhou), known only from the type locality. Etymology. The specific name refers to the ruby coloration of the holotype .
