Gonophora Dieckmanni
Graeser, 1888
,
Berliner Entomologische Zeitschrift
32(1): 148.
Type
locality: “bei Nicol.”[city of Nikolaevsk-na-Amure].
Present status:
Cymatochrocis dieckmanni
(
Graeser, 1888
)
:
Habrosynini
.
Taxonomic remarks: Traditionally the species has been considered a member of the genus
Habrosyne
s. lat.
;
Cymatochrocis
can thus be regarded as a subgenus of
Habrosyne
or a separate genus. We follow the second point of view, with
Cymatochrosis
including a group of species externally different from the complex of moths similar to
pyritoides
Hufnagel.
Nomenclatural
notes:
Caterpillars
of the species had been found by
L. Graeser
near
Nikolaevsk
in limited quantities (“die Raupen dieser neuen Art fand ich in beschränkter Anzahl”) but as a result 17 moths had hatched finally (“ich erzog aus diesen Raupen 17 Schmetterlinge”): they are therefore all
syntypes
of
Gonophora dieckmanni
Graeser, 1888
. Of these only 5 are present in
ZISP
.
One of them, a female with a slightly damaged right hind wing (glued) is designated
here
a
lectotype
of
Gonophora dieckmanni
Graeser, 1888
. It is a finely spread specimen (coll.
ZISP
) which is supplied with the following labels: a greenish elongate rectangular with a narrow black frame with «Nicolajefsk» printed and a white wider rectangle with narrow black frame and printed text «coll
Dieckmann
| (
Graeser
legit)». The specimen is designated by a red rectangular label with printed text “
Lectotypus
Gonophora
|
dieckmanni
Graeser, 1888
| design. Dubatolov et | Zolotuhin, 1994”. Although the specimen was selected as a
lectotype
in 1994 by
V
. Dubatolov and
V
. Zolotuhin, this was not published, and it is officially designated only here by
V
. Mironov&
V
. Zolotuhin. The specimen is kept in
ZISP
in cabinet 217/drawer 3.
Other specimens (
1♂
and
3♀♀
) are considered
paralectotypes
of the taxon.
