Holotype (male): “Caucasus” (illegible handwriting), “Typus” (red, press), “ H. carinatus m” (handwritten by Georg Seidlitz). Deposited in ZSM . Notes. We listed S. carinatus species in the key and catalogue of the Caucasian Tenebrionidae ( Abdurakhmanov & Nabozhenko 2011 ) . This species differs from other Stenohelops by the black body, almost parallel elytra, coarse punctation (by round punctures) of the head, the pronotum and elytra and triangular elevated elytral interstriae. This species was included in the recent catalogue (2020) to the “genus Stenohelops , species incertae sedis”. Prothoracic hypomera in S. carinatus are punctated by coarse round punctures and this species can be included in the nominotypical subgenus.
