Distribution. Originally described from Sri Lanka , the species has since been recorded from Madagascar and Seychelles to Pakistan , Thailand , South China Sea, Japan , Philippines , Vanuatu , New Caledonia , and the Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu, India (Galil 1997; Jayabaskaran et al . 2000; Ng 2002; Ng et al . 2002; Galil & Ng 2010). New record for Kerala.
