Examination of the
holotype
of this taxon (and a
paratype
from Humboldt, Co.,
California
) indicates that it is a
Tuxedo
sp.
As with several other species described by Knight, it is unfortunate that the
holotype
of this species is a female, and moreover that it is in poor condition. It is quite possible that the
holotype
and the examined
paratype
do not represent the same species. It may, however, be possible to fix the identity of the type because it comes from the northern limits of the distribution of the group where diversity is lowest.
