Diagnosis.
Aedeagus lacking parameres, in ventral view drop-shaped, evenly rounded and narrowing distad, apex of median lobe truncated, in lateral view distal portion of median lobe strongly curved dorsad.
Redescription.
Body of male and female (
Fig. 1
) elongate and flattened, reddish brown, in most specimens head slightly darker, setae yellowish. BL of male
1.18–1.25 mm
(mean
1.22 mm
).
Head short and slightly transverse, broadest at large, strongly convex and coarsely faceted eyes, HL
0.20–0.25 mm
(mean
0.23 mm
), HW
0.25–0.29 mm
(mean
0.27 mm
); tempora in dorsal view distinctly shorter than eyes; vertex and frons confluent and evenly, weakly convex; supraantennal tubercles poorly elevated. Punctures on head fine, inconspicuous; setae short, moderately sparse, suberect. Antennae moderately slender and relatively short, gradually thickened, AnL
0.53–0.58 mm
(mean
0.56 mm
), antennomeres I–II elongate, III–V each about as long as broad, VI–X each weakly to distinctly transverse, XI distinctly shorter than IX–X combined, slightly narrower than X, about 1.5 × as long as broad.
Pronotum bell-shaped, broadest near middle; PL
0.33–0.35 mm
(mean
0.34 mm
), PW
0.33 mm
. Anterior margin rounded and confluent with lateral margins, so that anterior corners not marked, sides rounded in anterior half, in posterior third slightly concave (obscured by dense bristles), posterior corners distinct, weakly obtuse-angled, blunt; posterior margin shallowly bisinuate. Pronotal base with two pairs of tiny pits, each situated in large, diffuse, wellvisible impression. Punctures on pronotal disc shallow, fine and inconspicuous; setae moderately long and sparse, suberect, lateral bristles long and dense.
Elytra together oval, broadest slightly in front of middle; EL
0.65–0.68 mm
(mean
0.66 mm
), EW
0.50 mm
, EI 1.30–1.35; humeral calli distinct but small, basal impressions short; apices separately rounded. Punctures on elytra more distinct than those on head and pronotum, densely distributed but small, shallow and with diffuse margins, unremarkable; setae longer, slightly thicker and more erect than those on pronotum, moderately dense. Hind wings well developed.
Legs moderately long and slender; protibiae indistinctly recurved, tarsi short and robust.
Aedeagus (
Figs 8–11
) stout, AeL
0.20 mm
; median lobe in ventral view drop-shaped with tapered apex, sides evenly rounded and narrowing from sub-basal region toward apex, in lateral view apical region strongly curved dorsad; endophallus with long median tubular component; parameres absent.
Female. Externally indistinguishable from male; BL
1.23–1.30 mm
(mean
1.26 mm
); HL
0.20–0.23 mm
(mean
0.22 mm
), HW
0.28–0.30 mm
(mean
0.28 mm
), AnL
0.53–0.60 mm
(mean
0.56 mm
); PL
0.33–0.35 mm
(mean
0.34 mm
), PW
0.31–0.33 mm
(mean
0.32 mm
); EL
0.68–0.78 mm
(mean
