Agreeing with Anthobaris as diagnosed by Hustache (1951) but larger. Length 6.9 mm , width 2.5 mm ; integument black with brassy tinge; dorsal surface and distal ventrites with erect, plain light brown setae. Elytron with subapical callosity undeveloped, sutural interstriae flat. Surface texture and acuminate fifth tarsomere as in A. rugosicollis . Male unknown. Etymology. The specific epithet is the comparative of the Latin adjective comptus . Material examined. Holotype female, Fig. 8 , labeled “Quebrada Segunda, P. N. Tapantí , 1250 m , Prov.
